"Thank you for running the intensive and instructive Leadership Initiative. The management training, and other lessons you taught are invaluable. I heard people describe the program as an MBA program on steroids because of its intensity. The CD you gave us contains so many articles which are very insightful on a variety of business topics. Earlier this year my friend who is a professor at the UCR Business MBA program commented positively about the program when he saw the class syllabus.
I owe you and the County of Riverside a huge debt of gratitude for this priceless training."

"Looking back over the months I had in the Leadership Initiative I can say one thing with certainty: I am more self-aware now then I ever was before. In the hours and days I had with all the wonderful and talented individuals in my class I had the opportunity to spend time on myself, and that is certainly not something any of us has much time to do these days. I have tried to take what I learned and integrate it into my daily life so that I can learn from my mistakes and not keep repeating them. I am grateful for the insights and the confirmations I received--as well as the surprises along the way. This class was truly a gift."

At first, I didn’t’ think I needed it (I was wrong).
-
Excellent self-examination process: gives you a good base level of who, what, and where you are as a person and leader.
-
Skills learned during the training are used regularly.
-
For many employees, there is no established leadership training available. The Leadership Initiative cuts across all fields of work in Riverside County and is applicable to all of them. I now have someplace to send employees who need this type of assistance.
-
It develops a camaraderie between the participants that carries over into inter-departmental relationships.
-
I would recommend that all of my superiors attend.
-
In my opinion, the ability to be a better leader leads to less employee/supervisor issues and results in more work being done with a higher level of quality and less personnel issues, all of which result in cost savings to the County of Riverside.
